The solenoid valve is classified as a direct acting solenoid valve. It only requires a ground connection and a simple 12 volt connection. With this type of solenoid valve, either wire can be used as a positive or negative supply. It is important to use a safe power supply with a 2.5 amp fuse installed on the power cable. The solenoid valve is in the closed position (no flow) when no power is present. Power to the solenoid valve will open the valve (flow). For proper operation, ensure that the manual ON/OFF valve is in the open position so that the solenoid valve allows gas to be supplied to the appliances. Ensure that the manual ON/OFF valve is in the closed position when wintering in a tunnel.
